The Musée d'Angoulême features objects from Oceania and Africa, and fine arts to discover prehistoric Charente
The Musée d'Angoulême is divided into 3 sections. First, on the first floor, take a stroll through prehistoric Charente, starting with the current excavations at Angeac-Charente. You'll discover the department through the prism of geology and archaeology. Then head for the second floor, devoted to non-European art. Here you'll find a major collection of African and Oceanic art, recognized as one of the richest in France. Ancient sculptures (masks, ornaments, statues), white weapons and gold weights, part of Dr. Jules Lhomme's legacy, can all be admired here. The top floor is dedicated to the fine arts, from the 16th to the 20th century, including works by Charentais artists. The museum is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible, offering guided tours, booklets and educational workshops. In 2023, the museum will be going digital with new installations such as 3D animation, virtual reality and photogrammetry.
Exhibitions. Throughout the year, temporary exhibitions complement the visit.
Accessibility. All areas are accessible. Folding seats and wheelchairs can be borrowed. Audioguides with sound adjustment can be hired, and many of the works can be touched. Enlarged-print and Braille documents are available. Visits in LSF can be arranged by appointment. The conference room is also equipped with a magnetic loop.

Open all year round. June to September open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 12:30pm and 1:45pm to 6pm. The rest of the year open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 12:30pm and from 1:45pm to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 5:30pm. Closed Mondays, January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25. Adults: €5.30 (concessions €3.20). Documentation room open Wednesday to Friday, 1.45pm to 5pm; Tuesday afternoons by appointment. Free admission on the 1st Sunday of each month. Tourism & Handicap label. Children's welcome (audio-guide, booklets, child-friendly workshops). Guided tours. Gift store.

The Musée d'Angoulême is a place rich in discovery, housing varied collections ranging from paleontology to contemporary art. Access is via a sunny garden adjoining the cathedral, promising a moment of tranquillity. Upstairs, art lovers will appreciate a selection of works by Charente and European artists from the 16th to the early 20th centuries. For a modern experience, digital tools such as films, virtual reality and a "serious game" are available to (re)discover the permanent collections. The museum aims to surprise and intrigue its visitors with these new interactive technologies. Guided tours can be booked in advance. With special rates, subscriptions and free admission every first Sunday of the month, the Musée d'Angoulême is well worth a visit for its rich heritage and innovative approach.

很棒的博物馆！每年漫画节这里都会有两位重量级漫画家的原画展，除此之外博物馆本身的展品也很值得一看，各种化石，异域风情的面具，服饰，装饰品等等，投影和墙壁岩石结合的效果也很有趣。
每年来我都会在入口处的纪念品商店买一块蜗牛化石：）期待明年再来～
