A surprising place that will attract bonapartists and the curious alike
The house was built in 1840 by an Empire soldier, Sergeant Louis-Joseph Petit, who settled in Saint-Riquier after being wounded at the Battle of Ligny in 1815. The house's eye-catching gable in the shape of an imperial hat is topped by a stone statuette of Napoleon I, which has replaced the timeworn original. It has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1928. A surprising place (and a charming house) that will attract bonapartists and the curious alike. Please note: the house cannot be visited!
