The Saint-Laurent tower is marked by history with its cannonball marks.
As a border town until the 17th century, Roye was plundered and devastated on numerous occasions. In the 11th century, it was decided to build ramparts to protect the town. Today, you can still see the Lupar tower bastion, the Saint-Pierre guardhouse, the Montplaisir bastion, the Saint-Pierre gate, the Enfer platform and the remains of the city walls. The impressive Saint-Laurent tower is marked by history, with its cannonball marks.
