The Hamel memorial built by the Australian government. Stages in the advance of Australian troops into France from 1916.
It was here that the German advance of 4 July 1918 was halted. Under the Australian command of General Monash, Australian and American units fought together, supported by artillery, aviation and 60 tanks: victory was achieved in only 93 minutes. With the help of panels, the visitor can follow the different stages, from the advance of Australian troops into France from 1916, to the formation of the Australian Corps to the leadership of General Monash.
