Founded in 1931, the Elan Béarnais is the club of Pau, Lacq and Orthez (EBPLO). It remained among the first in France between 1996 and 2004, and during these years, world-class players were starting out and then joining the NBA. After a descent in Pro B, the return among the "big" was done in 2009. It now has 7 national titles, 3 Ace trophies, 1 Ace week, 4 French Cups (the last one in 2022), not to mention its 30 consecutive European qualifications which constitute a national record.
