LEVY KEREBEL CAROLE
Read moreCarole Lévy Kerebel is a singular artist. After a 25-year career in the book trade, she returned to ceramics, which she had begun as a teenager. In 2012, she set up her own ceramics studio in her home, where she immersed herself in a comprehensive study of the material. Her path leads her to Japan, where she finds powerful inspiration. And so, for the past 10 years, she has been creating unique pieces: ceramic Kokeshi. They pay tribute, in a highly personal spirit, to traditional Japanese statuettes and the art of the kimono. Each piece is modeled in stoneware, polished, engraved, signed and smoked. Typographed clay is another facet of her work.
