Things to see and do Ham

Every city has its hero! In Ham, this hero is called Maximilien Sebastien Foy, general of the First Empire born in the commune on February 3, 1775. A bronze statue, a poignant work by Hiolle, was installed in his honor on the Place de l 'Ville, on July 20, 1879. The general was represented with his left hand on the heart, the right arm tensed, as frozen at the time he wrote, from the top of the tribune of the National Assembly: «There is echo in France when we pronounce the words honor and homeland».
