This 28-metre-high stone and brick belfry was the residence of the Dukes of Ponthieu and Beauval. Burned down several times, only part of the belfry of the past remains today. It now has a rather unique architecture, with its triangular wall leaning against the right side of the tower. In 2005, the belfry was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as were all the belfries in Belgium and northern France. It is considered as the symbol of communal freedoms.
