The church is the oldest of the city's monuments, dating back to the 13th century. At the end of the 16th century, it was a refuge during the invasion of Spain. It was resold as a national property after the Revolution, and was then transformed into a storage place. In 1924, it was saved from destruction and classified as a Historic Monument. The church contains a remarkable Burial Site, also classified as a Historic Monument in 1986. In the past, his choir would go all the way to the road.
