The guided tour is a privilege for visitors, as this theater is a unique site in the Hauts-de-France region. Before reaching the arena, you'll be told the story of the only Gallo-Roman wall in northern France whose layout is still complete. These walls were built at the end of the 3rd century to combat invasions. The Jardin du Roy, near the castle and cathedral, gives you a good idea of the construction. The arena could hold up to 8,000 spectators who watched the gladiatorial combat!
