LARDIER CHAPEL
Chapelle des Lardières in Clermont features a small bell tower with a bell from the Gervais factory bombed on August 25, 1944.
On the old road to Paris, this chapel, also called de Béthencourtel or du Tilleul, once belonged to the parish of Agnetz. It was built in the 17th century by Abbé Jean Le Hucher, Prior of Breuil-le-Vert and Lord of Béthencourtel, on the site of another chapel. The bell tower houses the bell from the former Gervais factories in the Belle Assise district. Inside is the tombstone of Louis Havart de Popincourt. On the wall, an epitaph honors this seigneur de Béthencourtel, Master of the Waters and Forests of Clermont.
