Pavillon de Manse de Chantilly which supplied the great waters of the castle, in other words the fountains.
This small pavilion supplied the "great waters" of the château, in other words the fountains, waterfalls and fountains that lavishly adorned the gardens of Le Nôtre. In the great cascades of Chantilly, the water seemed to come from everywhere; it was said that an aquatic paradise had been created here! To get to its destination, the water from the pavilion went through a 2.2 km long canal. A great deal of work by the associations has enabled the Great Waters Machine to be put back into motion. Unique, it consists of a large wheel with a diameter of 7.80 m and six pumps.

Trop peu mis en avant par les opérateurs touristiques ou par le château lui-même, ce bâtiment était pourtant, il y a encore quelques décennies, "la pompe" alimentant ce dernier en eau.
Un trésor d'artisanat et d'ingénierie rendu au public grace au travail d'une association, formée pour l'essentiel de bénévoles, qui a œuvré pendant des années pour la préservation et la restaurant de ce patrimoine. Merci à eux.
Un merci également à Christophe, notre guide ce jour-là, pour son partage et pour ses nombreuses 'petites dernières" qui ont rendu cette visite super vivante.
Tout ce qu'il faut pour éveiller la curiosité et l'envie chez les plus jeunes. Tout ce qu'il faut pour que les "grands" mesurent ce que les sciences et techniques apportent à l'Homme.
