LES VIRADES DE L'ESPOIR

In September, the time of a weekend, in the city centre, some neighbourhoods and many communes around, the return of the Virades brings hope to children affected by one of the most terrible genetic diseases: cystic fibrosis. The principle of this great meeting of solidarity is simple as good: All you have to do is run, walk, pedal, drag the baby stroller, go down Fido… just a few meters away. And to offer, before or after this effort, a few euros (or some cents), which will be used to combat the disease. To date, thanks to donations collected every year at this event, researchers have managed to locate the gene of the "muco" (on chromosome 7), to identify it (write its chemical formula) and to perform the first tests of gene therapy in the laboratory, and then on patients… Elvis, Laval, next September, continue this fight!
