CRÊPERIE TY BILLIG

Crperie
5/5
2 reviews

In a cosy setting in the heart of Laval, marked by its houses

medieval, a piece of Brittany opens to you by crossing the threshold of the restaurant Ty Billig (which means house of the pancake maker in Breton). Le Quimpérois original Hervé Chataignère and his wife Lucie will spoil lovers of specialities while offering on their menu, the buckwheat pancake LaTy Billig with scallops and a creamy vegetable fondue, or La Bigoudène for lovers of sour with the union of Guémené andouille, one of stewed apples and a touch of cream. The desserts are not neglected either including crowning all, the pancake of the Three brothers (ice cream, chocolate and vanilla pécan caramel, crowned with chantilly). The decor of the restaurant in shades of purple and vanilla is modern and the music is circumstances since the Breton and Celtic music is constantly honoured.

LA VOGLIA

Italian restaurant and pizzeria €€
4.2/5
10 reviews

After having worn the name L'Agape a few months ago, the former Black Diamond changed tack, style and soul in March 2012. Now held by Catherine Cazeau and Gérard Guarnelli, he now calls La Voglia, "envy" in Italian. The kitchen is honest and you can find on the map as many French dishes (tartar, of…) as Italian (various and varied pasta, ravioli and 9 pizzas from 12,50 to €. The decor is bright, pleasant, with a large room upstairs, which can accommodate the groups. The beautiful days, a terrace allow you to eat under parasols near a parking lot that avoids wasting time searching for a place for a Victor-Boissel street. But if the view offers some ruins, they have nothing to do with the beauty of Italian cities because they are two walls that might suggest that the neighborhood was recently bombed!

ENES ANTALYA KEBAB

Kebab

1 review

In the opinion of many amateurs, this restaurant is the best in the city. Set in the first part of the pedestrian street (on the square of 11-November), he has a man of Kurdish origin, Fit Demir, who has long practiced his profession in a large Turkish restaurant in Ankara. In Laval since 2005, he off his clients both with his kebab and his kofta, two dishes now familiar to the Laval people who can take them home or enjoy the Rue du Val-de-Mayenne, in two nicely decorated rooms.

LE MILANO

Located in the entrance of the centre Leclerc said of Saint-Nicolas (he kept his original name while moving to the Bozées), the Milano is one of the best pizza in Laval. It is not saying that we have the choice: twenty pizzas in total, including the "Pegasus special" (name of the emblem of the general council of Mayenne and the shopping centre) and "L'Ecume du Milano" (shrimp, Saint-Jacques, mussels, salmon). Of course, you can also eat pasta, recipes, meat (friend advice if you take the tartar, excellent at rest, avoid putting the sauce served in the dish: it kills the flavour of beef). The staff were very friendly and helpful. As for the garden, a small inner terrace can give the illusion of some to be in ancient Italy.

LA CIGALE

Crperie
5/5
1 review

Located at the corner of Mazagran and Scale-Hammer streets, Cigale is certainly the most discreet walk in the city. This is due to the narrow entrance and the washed colour of its facade. Even though the reception of the boss is a little cold, the Breton decor is particularly warm, which smacks of the armor (blue carpet) and argoat (wall color walls). The fact that this sign has existed for a long time testifies to the quality of its pancakes and patties, as well as its salads (5 €), its fried fried steak (€ 5,50) and, among other things, its net net to white wine (€ 8,20). Finally, its longevity also, you guessed, at the prices charged. At midday, for example, a menu of 7,50 € includes a galette, a crepe and a bolée of cider (raw or soft). Who says better?

Thanks to this house located near the station, you can no longer say that you don't eat in the crepes without spending huge sums! And this is true both at midday and in the evening! The lunch with the menu at 13 € (huge salad, galette galette, bulky crepe); In the evening with the first (at € 10) and the will at 14,90 €, offering a choice of six buckwheat patties and six pancakes for wheat! That's why it's a good idea for you to stay in the city. A Breton, inevitably!

LA BRASSERIE DES FLANDRES

Restaurant du Nord €€
5/5
1 review

Since July 2012, in a brand new large building in the Montrons area next to the Peugeot dealer's building, the Brasserie des Flandres has been adding a touch of ch'ti and flatland to the local cuisine. For many Laval residents, it is an opportunity to take a trip around the plate, which does not involve sushi, couscous or tapas... but northern dishes. Maroilles toast, for example. Or the tasty chicken breast with maroilles cream and the excellent welsh of the ch'tis, a dish made up of a slice of mustard bread, white ham and cheddar cheese, all melted in beer and baked in the oven. Hmmm.... There is also carbonade, a kind of sweet and sour beef. It should be noted that each of these specialities is accompanied by particularly tasty homemade fries. Of course, you can enjoy it all with a beer from the North. A plough tail for example, which shows that blondes of character exist! Finally, the dessert can also be typical, like ch'tiramisu. Anyway, we're having a good time. Especially since the young bosses, Sophie and Rémy Gzegorckyd, are charming and very welcoming.

L'AROMANCE

French cuisine restaurant €€
4.3/5
6 reviews

It was in 1997 that Franck and Patricia Saulnier, instead of the old Little butchery, created the Aromance, a name that combines aroma and romance. Renovated from the ground to the ceiling in 2006, this restaurant in the district district serves «bourgeois cuisine» as original (tian to fresh goat, century to conflict duck…) than traditional (calf blanquette…). Well, we eat very well and the reception of Patricia is smiling and considerate. From 18,50 € to 28 €, menus have the right idea to integrate wine (and thus avoid, at the end of the meal, some small unexpected calculations…). At noon, Saulnier also offers a dish of the day (8,50 €) and formulas at 10,70 € and 12 €.

BAGEL STORE

Sandwich shop
4.5/5

Imported into the USA by Jews in Poland at the beginning of the twentieth century, bagel quickly became the favourite bread of the Americans. In 2011, he arrived in Laval via a new brew installed at the entrance of La Cave Laval, Bagel Store. Fresh and fluffy, the proposed round rolls are all around 5 € and have names that make New York lovers dream: Broadway, Astoria, Soho, Times Square, Greenwich… Not to mention two emblematic characters of Uncle Sam: Rockefeller (smoked turkey, honey mustard, bacon, roasted peppers, lettuce) and, of course, Obama (Grisons meat, guacamole, feta, tomato…). As follows: no need to speak English, the orders are in French!

LA BAGUETTE D'OR

Asian cuisine restaurant €€
4.5/5

Created in 2000, this restaurant could serve as the museum of Cambodia, the ceiling, countless objects and paintings referring to the country of the Chéa couple, its owners. On the other hand, on plates or bowls, only Chinese specialities (on hot plates), Thai (pots) and Vietnamese (steam) are present. Offering an entrance, a dish of resistance and a dessert as good as a rich one, the menu at 15,50 € leaves the best of memories and no matter where you sit, because we can, in choice, contemplate a large statue of Buddha, the Cambodian gods immortalized by a photographer or, through the glass, the old music kiosk of the square of Boston recently renovated.

From the exit of Laval train station, visitors have the perfect address for dining, just looking at yourself and leaving the station hall. The hotel, bar, brasserie, Le Chemin de fer, by the friendly Alain and Joëlle Roger, offers you to stop to drink a bucket or take advantage of the fast on-site dining (mimosa eggs, steak-fries, roasted ham). LE CHÂTEAU DE CHINE

Asian cuisine restaurant €€
4/5
1 review

This "old" restaurant, located between the castle and the cathedral, offers honest cuisine at prices that are just as good. The patronne is shy but smiling, and the decor features an Asian aspect 100% with luminaires and typical paintings, one of which, thanks to the Fée fairy, represents a more true waterfall than the one that continues to tape children. The steam menu is at 12,20 €, with input nems, pork bites and rice in resistance, and choice between several desserts (lychees, apples doughnut…). Located in Old-Laval, it allows tourists to enjoy a small excursion in the Middle Empire between two lanes reminiscent of the Middle Ages. Emporter (- 10%).

L'ENVOL

Bistro and brasserie €€
3.1/5
10 reviews

Founded in 2011 by the founder of the Warner, the Envol is located near the Zoom de Derbré (roundabout), in the building that also houses Le Baker de Pierre. The room is - like the bar - huge, and also includes a floor. All of this space has at least one merit: allow to chat with his neighbour without being heard by his nearest neighbor… Side card, it's a little La Samaritan, because we find everything! " Big salads "and five kinds of burgers, pancakes and pizzas, patties and mussels (including a version of the sausage - Andalusia - which smells too little of the latter because of the cream), a" corner of the butcher "and the fish, without forgetting the very hearty ice cuts (La Breton is perfect!). In the summer, the terrace can smoke a cigarette while drinking its coffee without having to leave its place…

LE CHALET SAVOYARD

Savoyard restaurant €€

It can be said that the Laval Alexandra Masserot was quite right in 2005 to return to the country to open this cottage in the middle of the Grande-Street massif. The decor is 100% local (wood, wood and still wood) and, in the evening, it really looks like Houches, near Chamonix, where the patronne has made its ranges in the restoration. The map offers conveyors (14,50 €), famous (13 €, but the individual serving is plentiful), as well as the Savoyard fondues (€ 15,50) and chocolate (€ 8,50). There are also menus and a few dishes for those who do not like cheese to accompany their commensals while regaling.

A LA FOLIE DOUCE

Crperie
4/5
1 review

All the two old butchers, Nathalie and Thierry Aurrière, decided to combine their know-how with the flavours of wheat flour and buckwheat. This cocktail gives the plates of the patties to the original trim, ranging from those blending white boudin to pleurottes and foie gras (gold medallist in 2011 at their former charcuterie) or with La charcutière topped with pork, potato and onion conflict and accompanied by a thyme sherbet. Note that in the interest of taste quality, the restaurant's kitchen is equipped with a traditional smoking smoker for salmon, sausages and other breasts fumés. The restaurant in one of the most fashionable avenues in Laval and 100 m from the train station is the ideal place to eat quickly at the lunch break while relaxing the taste for the pleasures of the taste buds.

LA CRÉMAILLÈRE

Crperie
3/5
2 reviews

Created on December 4, 1974 by Suzanne Rosiau, instead of the former Barking du Val, the Railway is the oldest walk-salad in the city. It owes this longevity to the quality of patties and pancakes prepared by Myriam Sauvage (employed for 38 years, mainly under the Rosiau-Jolivet era) and the owner since 2012, Josiane Lebreton. But also to the warmth of its décor unchanged since the Giscard years, a highly wooded decor reminiscent of the choice, the mountain chalet or the country hostel. In the afternoon, a formula for less than € 10 offers a dish, dessert and coffee. Among our favourite plates, recommend the country galette (spiced onions, smoked breast, mirror egg, salad, mushrooms) and galette galette (caramel, caramel caramel, and chantilly). These dishes are delicious and have the good idea to find themselves in the menu from 14,50 to € served with a Breton kir offered by the house.

MCDONALD'S CARREFOUR

Fastfood

1 review

The first of the series to have seen flying its flag on the mayennais floor, this mcdonalds often attracts the crowd of the big evenings, especially on Sunday where, around 20 h, it is better not to be in coins. Renovated and enlarged in 2011, it has the control terminals for less wait. What do we add? If the first menu is 6,20 € (the «best of»), the Happy Meal delights the toddlers with the changes that change all the time and the drive is often the fastest way to get your meal… For info, another MacDonald's is also present in the Bozées area, rue de London. Smaller than that of Carrefour, it also has different times: -22 p. m. (Sunday to Thursday) and p. m. (Friday and Saturday). On the other hand, he has the same slogan as his brother: " Come as you are! '»»»»

CASINO CAFÉTÉRIA

Fast food and home delivery

It is an old French teacher dating back to the 1960 s and located in Laval with the opening of Carrefour Centre in 1986. Since then, many families (but also people) have eaten or spoiled there before or after their week races. They appreciate the self-paced, time-saving formula, the children's playground, which allows parents to blow a little before the end of the meal. The dishes are honest and varied (roasted chicken, hamburger, fish in the east…), rather smiling waitresses and, on weekends, ogre appetites are pleased to be able to take on the will of the dish at the poster of the «gourmands» (grilled ham, couscous…).
