AIDES is a voluntary association working in Laval and throughout France to support HIV-positive people and those most vulnerable to HIV and hepatitis. Their actions take place both on and off their premises. Founded in 1984, AIDES is the leading association in the fight against AIDS and hepatitis in France and Europe. It is recognized as a charitable organization and has been awarded the "donation en confiance" label by the Comité de la Charte. For the past 30 years, AIDES has been working to reduce the number of new infections, help those affected find care and defend their rights. The association also plays a major role in improving the way patients are taken into account in France's healthcare system, developing the rights of vulnerable people and fighting discrimination. AIDES' principles are respect, independence, confidentiality and non-judgment.
