JALMAV

For many years, Jalmav has been conducting a work of reflection around mourning and, as his acronym indicates («Until Death Accompanies the Life»), accompanies people who are seriously ill or at the end of life, in institutions or in their homes. For this aconfessionnelle and apolitical association, the accompaniment and the palliative care it entails must provide the dying with the opportunity to live its end of life without having to accelerate the outcome (Jalmav is against euthanasia), nor to prolong it through fierce therapy. The volunteers in Jalmav receive training that enables them to offer the people they accompany two rather rare commodities in the current day: listening and presence.
