DOMAINE OGEREAU
Read moreOn these soils, which saw the first chenins grow more than a thousand years ago, the Ogereau family cultivates delicious coteaux-du-layon as well as quarts-de-chaume and cabernet d'Anjou. The estate extends over ten clos and lieux-dits, which offers these winegrowers a variety of soils, from clay rich in quartz to sand and schist, and sunny exposures for remarkable and unique crops. This estate is renowned for its great dry whites, for which the Revue des vins de France has awarded them a star in 2021.
DOMAINE PHILIPPE DELESVAUX
Read moreIts 1990 history, the most beautiful of the Layon, is still engraved in all the mouths of the privileged who have tasted it! Philippe Delesvaux, a passionate winemaker, a symbol of the sugar-free generation (other than natural), without sulfur, militant for small yields, blows his wine as nobody. Its selections of noble grains are always perfect, witness this 2003, fresh, wide, powerful, aromatic. Also note the 2008 cuvée "La Rise de l 'Epine" based on cabernet-sauvignon. It can be produced immediately or after three or four years in fruit with aromatic fruit and spices.
DOMAINE MICHEL BLOUIN
Read moreAbove all do not come here to simply "buy" wine. Come and install yourself at home at the corner of fire, on one of the big wooden tables under the trees beams, and let Jean-Christophe (the son of Michel), "tell you" his vineyard and wine. If you go through the summer, you can even have a small course on the different varieties whose branches run along the walls. Finally, let yourself be involved in discovering the different nectars: Anjou, Anjou-villages, slopes-du-layon, thatch, cabernet… With intelligence, you are being tested two by two, very useful to compare when you are not a oenology expert. If rosé (dry or semi-dry) is most demanding, it is undoubtedly on the slopes of the layon that our coup has worn: slopes-du-layon-saint-aubin (2009), beaulieu, and thatch, the precious Cuvée which offers a lesser marquée than others, but stretches into the mouth with infinite aromas of candied fruit.
