Noblesse and tradition oblige, and the domaine is one of the standard-bearers of the saumur-puy-notre-dame appellation. It is committed to an environmental approach and has gone completely biodynamic. The ultra-modern winery is well worth a visit. Here, the harvests are stored, plot by plot. And beneath the vines, you'll find almost 2 km of tufa stone galleries where over 100,000 bottles are stored in cool, dark conditions. You can also discover their fine bubbles and other wines in their Montsoreau boutique, Caveau du Domaine de la Paleine.

Opening time and information on DOMAINE DE LA PALEINE
Vignobles et Découvertes. Demeter. Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm; Saturday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm. Cave de Montsoreau: Friday to Monday, 11am to 7pm (low season) and Thursday to Monday, 11am to 7pm (high season). Closes at 6pm on Sundays. Closed in January and February. Delivery possible.
Owner's Message
Domaine de la Paleine has been located at the foot of the Puy-Notre-Dame hill since at least the 18th century, originally under the name of Moulins de la Paleine. The current operation began to take shape in the 1960s. You'll find it on the south-facing slope as you enter the village from Doué-la-Fontaine.
It all starts with the life of the soil and plants, which have been organic (AB) since 2013, and biodynamic (Demeter), in both vineyard and cellar, since 2017.
We are committed to people, to our essential team and to you, our guests, to sustainable viticulture and biodiversity, with a few plots of cereal and beehives.
Inside the clos's old tufa walls, you'll discover the winery surrounded by vines and a meadow, the beehives, and the troglodytic cellars.
The Domaine produces wines from the Saumur-Puy-Notre-Dame appellation, of which it is a leading player, as well as other Saumur appellations, Fines Bulles and Crémant de Loire; including several parcel-based cuvées that highlight the terroir. Healthy wines that reflect terroir and vintage.
