The banks of the Loire, a place specially designed for bicycles in Loireauxence.
The banks of the Loire are flat and specially designed for bicycles, so get on your bike. A walk allows you to admire the Loire and the islands, Batailleuses and Mocquart, a typical habitat. The Batailleuse island owes its name to the Norman invasions. It is located near the left bank of the river, on the territory of the communes of Varades and Saint-Florent-le-Vieil. It is 4 km long and 730 m wide, with a surface area of 171 hectares. The island is connected to both banks of the river by a bridge, which crosses the western point.

La ballade commence sur les bords de Loire au village de pêcheurs de la Meilleraie. Un petit sentier longe la Loire à coté du restaurant La Closerie des Roses et nous fait découvrir de superbes panoramas. Emporter des jumelles pour contempler les oiseaux : Hérons, aigrettes, cormorans etc.… Nombreux coins de pêche aussi pour les passionnés. Jolie points de vue sur l’abbaye de Saint Florent et les nombreuses iles sur la Loire. Possibilité aussi de visiter la Maison de Bonchamps.
