Part of the town hall has been in Chassay castle since 1975. It was for a long time the bishops'campaign of Nantes. Henri IV was received in 1598 by Bishop Philippe du Bec before the signature of the edict of Nantes. François II confisqua Chassay to make it the hunting pavilion of the Dukes. The Renaissance building was built in the th century. The wings symmetrical to the castle were added to the th century.
