THE MEGALITHES
These megaliths, composed of dolmens and menhirs, bear witness to the very ancient occupation of the site. You can discover the dolmen of the Avenue des Rossignols, the dolmen of the Douanier, the menhir of Le Boivre (3.8 m high, and a base of 3 m tower), the menhir of Pierre-Attelée (hidden in the forest, once topped by a cross, it is a block of quartz sandstone 3 m high, and 1.40 m wide), the tumulus of the Moulin-Chevaliers or the menhir of Plessis-Gamat (near the Ferme des tabacs), the menhir of La Roche-des-Prés impasse des reeds, also called the stone of Gargantua, because of the legend that is attached to it, the menhir of the Pierres-Couchées at the entrance of the campsite of the same name, and the "buttocks of the Devil", located outside the town hall.
