Place du Maréchal Joffre (commonly known as "Place du Marché") is home to not only the best fresh produce stalls on the Peninsula, but also all kinds of items and clothing from the most classic to the most unusual. The Pornichet market has nearly 100 stalls in winter and 200 in summer. It is one of the largest markets in the destination La Baule-Presqu'île de Guérande, known from the bay of La Baule to South Brittany via Saint-Nazaire and Brière. Among the edible sellers, organic is well represented, with vegetables, but also bread, poultry, milk and cheese. If you like goats, an organic producer with a hat and long hair sells the best and cheapest in the region. An arborist will also supply you with many varieties of exceptional organic apples. Meat, seafood and oysters are not to be missed inside the halls. In summer, you will also find souvenir sellers. You can also enjoy an excellent little nutmeg at the bar once your basket is full. It is recommended to come early or risk impressive tails at the popular stalls. Another market, in the Sainte-Marguerite district, from mid-June to early September. As for the halls, they are open every summer morning to supply you with fresh produce!
