Fresh produce and home cooking with vegetarian options in a restaurant overlooking the sea

It's not always easy to find an address that caters for all tastes, but with its sea view, Grain de Folie is a good choice. Passionately prepared home cooking, with a menu that changes every 2 days, combining fresh fish and French meats, not forgetting vegetarian options such as the spring roll with green asparagus and crunchy vegetables and the vol-au-vent. For dessert, we opted for the original Spring-Matcha, a fruity dessert with matcha tea, after having hesitated with baba au rhum.

On a d'abord apprécié l'humour du menu avec ses jeux de mots. On est allé prendre simplement la formule entrée+plat pour un prix tout à fait abordable . On a été surpris par la qualité de présentation des plats et au départ inquiet de la quantité. En fait présenté dans de grandes assiettes, il s'est avéré que nous étions parfaitement rassasiés. La vue sur la mer de l'autre côté de la rue est un petit plus.

Avons été un brin déçus par ce restaurant dont la folie est surtout dans les tournures de phrases de la carte (très bonne idée d'ailleurs pour attirer le client). Cadre agréable et heureusement car grosse attente avant une première prise en charge, alors que deux serveuses se tournaient les pouces derrière le bar. Service agréable mais sans plus car on sent que tout le monde est débordé et ça ne devrait pas se sentir, surtout le week-end en soirée (on n'est pas dans le cadre d'un menu commercial un mardi midi par ex !). Prix exorbitants à lacarte pour ce que l'on retrouve dans l'assiette : petites quantités, originalité relative et pas forcément très goûteuse.

This restaurant deserves its name. Arrived Friday between 13:15 and 13:30, impossible to be served a dish on the menu. In replacement, mini menu of " snack bar" , Without Mentioning The behaviour of the waitress who reopens a window that you come to close due to draught. Explanations of the manager " I can not keep a team at this time là". We decide to go. No doubt the privileged location on the beach La Baule Pornichet is such a behaviour... just a touch of madness...

Disappointed, I do not speak decor or the view, but the cuisine, I very expensive find compared to what you will find in our dishes, you are tempted some time to be happy with a simple dish but strangely expensive, in order to be surprised by an exceptional preparation... which with terminal is not it. Sole realise, and cheese dish (goods) really too expensive!

If you stay in Pornichet I advise you to try this restaurant because the cuisine fully gave us satisfaction (dishes very pleasant to eat & good value and we have been very well received.
The location (facing the beach) & the decor are very pleasant.
