This fortress of Marches de Bretagne, located on a rocky promontory overlooking the valley of the Chère, tells ten centuries of history. The castle has been the object of 7 constructions since the 11th century and oscillates between medieval style in the west of the enclosure and Renaissance style. Of the first one, the keep, the enclosure, the imposing entrance, all recall the defensive system of the fortress and the military role of the city, stronghold of the Marches de Bretagne. The second, built on the foundations of the medieval curtain wall, recalls the elegance of the Loire castles.

Reception - Shop: February, March, April Wednesday to Sunday, 2pm to 5:30pm, May, June, July, August, September Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30am to 6pm, October Wednesday to Sunday, 2pm to 5:30pm, November and December weekends, 2pm to 5:30pm. Self-guided tours of the gardens. Guided tours €6. Reduced rate 3 €. Free for children under 26.
