Boat builders offering guided tours of the Audomarois marsh on their boats.
In the suburbs of Saint-Omer, Rémy and Vincent Colin are the last manufacturers of escutes and bacôves, traditional market gardeners' boats made of oak and flax. They have inherited their grandfather's trade and his unique know-how, which earned them the prestigious label "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company). They offer you guided tours of the Audomarois marshlands on their boats which they guide by pole vault. It is also possible to visit their workshop and the archaeological site which explains the reconstruction of a 15th century boat.
