GERMAN MILITARY NECROPOLIS OF THE WHITE HOUSE

The German military necropolis of the White House was created at the end of the Great War, between 1919 and 1923, on the initiative of the French authorities. It is the largest German military necropolis in France. Here lie 44,833 German soldiers, 840 of whom have never been identified and lie in a mass grave. The general composition of the site recalls the important place of nature in Germanic mythology.
