The V3 base, between Landrethun-le-Nord and Leubringhen, shelters today 600 m of underground galleries accessible to the public.

The V3 base or fortress of Mimoyecques is also known as the "London gun site". It is located on the D249 between Landrethun-le-Nord and Leubringhen. The fortress of Mimoyecques and its underground tunnels were used as an experimental base for the German secret weapon of the last chance, the V3. This is the longest gun ever built by the Germans during the Second World War. The site was destroyed by Allied bombing on July 6, 1944. Today, 600 meters of underground galleries are accessible to the public.

Het is nauwelijks te bevatten wat zich daar heeft afgespeeld. Het is maar n klein deel wat toegankelijk is. Je loopt erin en een deel loopt rond. Je gaat niet naar boven of beneden. Aan de wanden hangen informatieborden in 4 talen. Ook Nederlands. Met een uurtje heb je het wel gezien en gelezen. Doe n trui aan. Het is er 10 graden. En neem n zaklamp mee.

Sehr beeindruckend. Wir wollten in die Tunnel und wurden vom Personal zurück gerufen, da man Eintritt bezahlen muss. Es gab aber kein Hinweis oder der gleichen. Der Eintritt ist mit 7€ nicht gerade günstig.

Fantastic experience, seen it on a documentary, was so pleased to find the museum while in the area staff very helpful, dress warm as it does get a bit nippy in the tunnels.
