Fascinating history center, housed in a colossal 55,000-ton dome built by the Nazis in Helfaut.

Beneath this colossal 55,000-ton dome, built by the Nazis, is a fascinating history center featuring an exhibition of the Germans' mad projects, the V2 rocket and a memorial to the deportees. After this immersion in history, float off into space in the 3D Planetarium: aboard the Saturn V, set out to conquer the Moon and Mars. The bubble with its hemispherical 360-degree screen makes the show more real than life. Allow a good three hours for the whole experience.

une ancienne base de V2 dont l'activité a été interrompue par la débâcle allemande en 1945, bien mise en valeur et avec de nombreuses expositions sur la seconde guerre mondiale en général (assez long d'en faire le tour). A noter le planetarium panoramique qui diffuse différents films sur la nature et l'espace.

Une très agréable visite durant laquelle nous avons découvert à la fois l'histoire des lieux (la coupole devait être une aire de lancement de v1 et v2 durant la seconde guerre mondiale mais le projet n'a jamais abouti) et les mystères de l'univers.
Nous avons assisté à la projection d'un film sur l'univers dans la coupole : découverte de différentes constellations, d'étoiles bien plus grosses que notre soleil... on ressort de la en se sentant tout petit.
Prévoir au moins une demi-journée voire même une journée entière si vous voulez visionner plusieurs films (il y en avait 4 ou 5)
