ST. LÉGER'S CHURCH
A visit to this church will give you a better understanding of the commune's religious history.
Of course, Eperlecques has changed over the years. But the church of Saint-Léger has remained unchanged since at least the 15th century! Its beautiful white stone tower, dating from the 16th century, dominates the whole village. But that's not its only treasure: there's also an organ case, probably from the Lederzeele church. This Gothic edifice is surrounded by the village's former cemetery, and its burials offer a fine insight into the village's religious history. The bright interior is very soothing.
