JEAN-BAPTISTE SAY SPINNING
Cotton mill located within the walls of a former Benedictine abbey.
The economist Jean-Baptiste Say founded the cotton mill in 1804, within the walls of a former Benedictine abbey. What remains today is a peaceful, green site, crossed by the bubbling waters of the Ternoise. The remains of the abbey sit harmoniously alongside the factory and the Château Blanc, built by Jean-Baptiste Say to house his family. Today, the Château Blanc is a private property, no longer open to the public and no longer open to visitors. It can still be admired from afar...
