Le Boves, Arras' most fascinating historical site.

Discover the subterranean history of Arras by diving into its limestone quarries, dug from the 10th century onwards in the city's basements. Initially a place of extraction and sweat, these boves became cellars and warehouses for the merchants of the squares, then a shelter for the population of Arras during the bombardments of the Second World War. It's a fascinating and fascinating part of the city's history, and makes for an original walk. A word of advice: bundle up, it can get cold!

What an amazing tour of the caves right below the belfry and town squares. Vincent was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable giving the tour in French and English. The tours run throughout the day but it is advisable to book in advance.

A faire
