Artisanal Center of the Blue Stone, gathering different machines to cut and shape the stone and stone cutters.
During your strolls in the Avesnois, you have probably discovered beautiful churches and other monuments built in blue stone. But did you know that there is a centre specially dedicated to the craftsmanship of this very special stone? Created in 2002 with the aim of preserving the craftsmen's know-how, the Blue Stone Craft Centre is housed in a beautiful 17th century barn built of limestone rubble. The Centre brings together various machines for cutting and shaping stone, but also stonemasons, Johann and Eddy, who will explain their passion to you. Visits are possible, do not hesitate to go to one of the tourist offices of the Avesnois to make an appointment.
