The oldest church of the city of Roubaix, containing remarkable recumbents in stone of Tournai and an altarpiece.
When you arrive on the square of Roubaix, you only notice the church of Saint-Martin, classified as a historical monument since 2009. It dates back to the 13th century and is the oldest building in the city. Enlarged by Pierre de Roubaix in 1458 with the Saint-Pierre chapel and then, in 1493, with the Sainte-Croix chapel, it has five naves since 1848 thanks to the architect Charles Leroy. In 1848, it was redesigned by raising the choir and adding two new naves on either side, making it one of the first neo-Gothic buildings.

Roubaix n'étant qu'à un court trajet en tram de Lille, il serait dommage de se priver de la vue de cette superbe église toute de blanc vêtue. L'intérieur est également très beau.
A haven of peace in the centre of Roubaix, the gilded altarpiece is magnificent, the model of the former convent of nuns sold at the city's extraordinarily precision
