LE CHÊNE DE TOMBEBOEUF
Over 350 years old, this oak is the most majestic tree in Lot-et-Garonne: a symbol of the department.
In Tombebœuf, a natural treasure has stood guard for over three centuries. On private property, the oldest and arguably the most beautiful oak tree in Lot-et-Garonne, if not France, can be seen from the road. This 350-year-old majestic tree, named "Tree of the Year" in 2019 by Terre Sauvage magazine, stands an impressive 25 metres high and has a 38-metre wingspan. Weakened by time, it is now supported by props. A natural wonder to be contemplated simply, during a bucolic stopover.
