This fort is one of the defensive sites built around Maubeuge at the end of the 19th century. A tour of the site, complemented by a museum dedicated to the First World War, allows you to appreciate the fort's main features. In particular, you'll find reconstructed living quarters and trench shelters! Since the discovery of an American fighter plane and its pilot, Lt. Patton, buried in the earth fifty-six years earlier, a memorial has been dedicated to them.
