A campsite in a park offering gites, bed and breakfast, mobile homes, ideal for the disabled.
This campsite is set in 3 hectares of parkland, around an old Flemish farmhouse and two ponds, just 20 min from the beaches and 15 min from Cassel. You can rent gîtes (including one with a whirlpool bath!), mobile homes and camping pitches. You can also spend the night in a kota, a Finnish chalet resembling a large wooden teepee, with everything you need. Another atypical and comfortable way to camp! Camping des Roses was taken over in 2019, and the manager was keen to rethink his establishment, which will remain on a human scale, quiet and family-friendly. It will be the ideal starting point for hiking, horse-riding or cycling. A moment of calm in the heart of the Flemish countryside. Camping des Roses also offers a 70 m² single-storey gîte, suitable for people with reduced mobility, designed to accommodate 4 people and comprising 2 bedrooms. Good humor and conviviality are the order of the day: an excellent vacation in prospect!

Definitely not the friendliest of welcomes.
When I explained we had booked in advance, he shrugged and said "quite possibly".
There was only one toilet with no paper supplied. A tiny sink with explosive cold water, and one shower using an old school token. The shower was also small which meant I couldn't help bumping into the tap and switching it off. However the water was hot and lasted long enough for a decent shower.
We walked twenty minutes to the lovely cobbled town centre. The friterie was the only place open so we ordered small portions. Be warned even the smallest portions are enormous!
