Visit an old Benedictine abbey with remarkable towers in a green and serene setting in Bergues.
For over a thousand years, the two towers of the Benedictine abbey have stood the test of time! This once majestic edifice, erected by the Counts of Flanders, went into gradual decline. Unfortunately, the French Revolution destroyed a large part of it, leaving only its two towers virtually intact: the square tower and the pointed tower. The atmosphere is nonetheless exotic and invites you to relax in this green and serene setting, which was also used as a German cemetery during the Second World War. Worth exploring!
