CITÉ DU MOULIN
A city that flourished in the region in the first half of the 20th century, with a chevalement shape seen from the sky, a place to visit
The Cité du Moulin is one of the garden cities that sprang up in the region in the first half of the 20th century, directly linked to the flourishing industry - it was intended to accommodate workers from the surrounding mines. It dates back to the 1920s and is organized in residential blocks, surrounded by greenery, with the houses set back slightly from the street. Like Terril 140 and Cité Justice, it has been registered with Unesco! Designed by a mining engineer, it looks like a headframe from the air.
