CHÂTEAU D'AUBY
Château belonging to the Marquise de Leyde and renovated by Auguste Dubois in the 1830s, a must-see in Auby
Here's a building that has had a thousand lives. Built in the early 18th century, it once belonged to the Marquise de Leyde. It was also renovated by a certain Auguste Dubois in the 1830s, then occupied by the Germans during the First World War. Its buildings were also taken over by the Compagnie des Mines de l'Escarpelle... before being bought by the town and used as a school canteen, then a media library! But in 2005, the building was destroyed by arson. After a thorough renovation, it now houses the town hall.
