Concrete bandstand in the middle of Place de la République, a new space in Auby not to be missed
In the heart of Auby, a concrete bandstand stands in the middle of the Place de la République. It was built between 1921 and 1923 by a Douai company, Martens. More importantly, it was based on designs by Douai-born Art Deco architect Jean Goniaux! In place of the kiosk and the square, the Château Laloux park had previously stood. The construction of this new space was largely financed by compensation paid after the First World War.
