THE DEBOSQUE HOUSE
Vast building dating from the 1930s, in a style reminiscent of the Anglo-Norman houses in Armentières.
One of Armentières' most famous families, the Debosque family, lived in this vast building dating from the 1930s. Maurice Debosque played an active role in rebuilding the town of Armentières after the First World War. His vast mansion, in a style reminiscent of Anglo-Norman houses, symbolized renewal and prosperity. It was nicknamed the "Château"! In 1971, the house was bought by the town. It is now occupied by the Town Hall, but it is possible to visit it and its garden.
