House located near the market hall, its tower is part of the "seven towers of Martel"
This 12th century hotel is also called the Duboy house: it is said that it was built by Etienne Fabri, a rich bourgeois. Above all, it is on this site that Henri au Court Mantel, the eldest son of Henri II Plantagenet, king of England, of the famous and sulphurous Eleanor of Aquitaine, and brother of Richard the Lionheart, died on June 11, 1183, shortly after having plundered Rocamadour: the house is marked at the top of the tower with the English coat of arms, the erect leopard. Located near the market hall, its tower is part of the "seven towers of Martel".

La Maison Fabri à Martel
La Maison Fabri est une belle demeure située près de la Halle de la cité médiévale de Martel. Une plaque apposée près de la porte rappelle en ces termes quel personnage célèbre y est mort : « Maison Fabri où mourut Henri Court Mantel en 1183 ». Par contre, il faut de très bons yeux et un peu de concentration pour apercevoir l'écusson anglais avec le léopard dressé au sommet de la tour, mais j'y suis arrivée !
