The abbey of Marcilhac has long been ignored by tourists and sometimes even by the Lotois until the arrival of a priest who was determined to bring the abbey out of oblivion. This is the story of Abbot Guillaume Soury-Lavergne, the priest who parachuted to save his abbey in 2015. The following year, he repeated his sporting exploits, this time diving 250 metres into the famous Ressel chasm. Each exploit enabled him to raise funds. So what is this mysterious Abbey? There is the second oldest tympanum in Europe embedded in the fascinating Romanesque remains left in the open air.
