The Figeac native is world-renowned for having succeeded in deciphering hieroglyphics for the first time: the famous Rosetta Stone, a giant reconstruction of which you can admire in the Place des Écritures, just a stone's throw from the museum. Behind its magnificent façade of copper and glass, with its thousand letters from all over the world, you'll discover collections based on the work of the famous decipherer of hieroglyphics, recounting the fabulous adventure of writing and inviting you on an exciting journey through cultures and eras.
