Duravel has been known since ancient times as Diolindum, and its name will then evolve into Duravallis. A church existed there from the Fifth or the th century, the crypt attests to it. Destroyed following the passage of the Barbarians, it was rebuilt in the th century. It is one of France's few pre-Romanesque buildings. The Duravel Saint-Hilarion church dates from the th century and has a historically remarkable crypt. The church contains the relics of three saints: Hilarion, Agathon and Poémon, reported by Charlemagne, to contemplate every five years (next ostension in October 2015). Beneath the stone, the marble basement adorned with a carved grape pampre would be a relic of a temple dedicated to Bacchus. Facing the church, the th century Boutier castle has beautiful Renaissance windows. A circuit in the direction of Lot-et-Garonne leads us into the romantic and romantic setting of the th century Romanesque church of Saint-Avit, destroyed by the Revolution on the Bonaguil Tourist Route.
(Note: next ostension in October 2020).
