A place not to be missed offering a more than reasonable quality/price ratio in Cajarc.
Patrice Ponsolle, a former employee of Bernard Loiseau's, officiates at the Jeu de Quilles, an essential place if you are passing through Cajarc or the region: fresh products, mostly organic and local if possible, prepared with passion by this maestro of flavours. Class, taste, creativity, a passionate cook, all for a more than reasonable price-quality ratio. Sometimes there is a short waiting time between dishes, but the quality of the dishes is reason enough. To accompany, wide choice of selected wines.

If you don’t love it, you don’t get it. Fat, salt, heat, sweet, green things, meaty things, finned and feathered things. It doesn’t matter what’s on the menu…it all comes out of the kitchen smelling deliciously and reflecting beautifully the passion of the chef and the dedication of the staff. Not forgetting the wine list; which is always modern, exciting and mostly natural. Outside is lovely in fine weather but don’t be disappointed with an inside table. Same magic, different wand. Still worth an annual pilgrimage (or more) from far corners of France after all these years.

We waited 30 mins to be served, nobody asked if we would like a drink apéro, when we arrived. Disappointed as we are locals and had heard good things. ????
