The house has been converted into a permanent exhibition space on the operation and history of the old pumping station

Created in 1853 and closed in 1971, Cahors' first drinking water plant used the hydraulic power of the Lot to draw water from the naturally potable Chartreux fountain. Today, the plant, still equipped with its original machinery, features an exhibition on its operation, the history of the pumping station, the Valentré bridge and water in Cahors and around the world. An original and entertaining visit, with a little extra: after your visit, you can enjoy the terrace overlooking the Valentré Bridge.

Very interesting and it would be even more interesting if they had a film of a model showing how it works. The drinks cafe downstairs is v v friendly, & you enjoy a wonderful view of the famous bridge.

Petit musée sans grande prétention. Le bar juste en dessous est le meilleur endroit de Cahors pour se rafraîchir au calme et profiter tranquillement de la magnifique vue sur le Pont et sur les bateaux qui passent l'écluse. Accueil et service très agréables, prix très raisonnables. ????????

J'ai été super mal vu par la femme qui jouait comme serveuse le dimanche après-midi à cet endroit! J'étais assis à attendre pour voir si quelqu'un répondait et sans succès je suis allé à la maison et il y avait le super antipathique, avec sa poitrine pleine de gliter qui donnait l'impression d'être une personne extravertie et heureuse, j'ai trouvé une femme arrogante et mal éduquée. Je suis allé lui demander si elle allait à l'extérieur pour répondre, elle a dit oui et puis j'ai demandé si elle acceptait une carte, elle a dit non, j'ai demandé de l'eau et elle a très mal voulu remplir le verre d'eau, quand il était temps de partir, j'ai demandé un autre verre d'eau et elle m'a La première et la dernière fois que je vais à cet endroit. Très déçu par votre mauvaise réception !

Le pont est splendide, bien préservé, une architecture traditionnelle et typique. La maison de l'eau est une bonne découverte pour petit et grand.
