VIRGO COOP
Composed of business leaders, self-employed people and citizens above all, Virgo Coop aims to bring environmentally and socially responsible projects to its territory - the South of the Lot -. At the origin of this ambitious program, Mathieu Eddesen-Goudin, Mathieu Thiberville, Clémence Urvoy and Johann Vacandare are determined to do everything possible to succeed. In addition to developing a producer store in Tour-de-Faure, self-construction training in Limogne-en-Quercy and the development of socially responsible energy production, the small team also aims to give a sustainable boost to hemp cultivation: a robust plant that is highly resistant to disease and requires only a little water. In the meantime, Virgo Coop has entered into a partnership with Atelier Tuffery in the Cévennes to produce 300 hemp jeans. This time, the hemp yarn comes from Eastern Europe. But in the long term, this collaboration should be 100% made in Occitania: hemp production in the Lot, weaving in the Tarn and making in Lozère.
