With a summit culminating at 2 400 meters of altitude, we rub shoulders with the most beautiful Pyrenean giants with a panoramic view of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, the Vignemale, the Péguère and the Balaïtous. Known for its generous snow cover and its many hikes, the Cirque du Lys attracts many visitors each year by the beauty of its landscapes, in all seasons. In summer, the GR10 trail leads you to the Ilhéou pass, overhanging the Lys crests. In addition to the valley that reveals itself, you will find a lake and the refuge of Ilhous, whose waterfall of the same name is legendary. This excursion will allow you to meet the hikers and fishermen but also the charming "inhabitants" of the grandiose site: vultures and marmots will watch you from the corner of your eye. The most daring hikers will start the climb from Cauterets. It takes 5 hours to get over the 1,400 meters of difference in altitude. A combined gondola + chairlift from Cambasque, on the other hand, allows you to climb effortlessly and come down in 2 hours 45 minutes. In this mountain bike kingdom, you will find a Bike Park, open to all and to all styles. From there, with a 1,500 m difference in altitude, you can reach the village: a unique spot in the Pyrenees and a total change of scenery. In winter, the alpine domain opens its 36 km of slopes and its Freestyle Park to beginners and thrill seekers who can have fun according to their level.

Malheureusement nous avons profité que de 2 jours sur le domaine suite à la fermeture de celui-ci par sécurité (vent et enneigement).
L’accès et la montée se font par le téléphérique situé à Cauterets. Le domaine skiable est assez grand avec des pistes pour tous les niveaux. Dommage que le mauvais temps est perturbé notre séjour. Pas de plan » B » au niveau de la mairie pour occuper nos journées non skiées. Tout est payant en supplément. Cinéma et piscine fermée. Nous sommes en période hors vacances scolaires…
Pas de remboursement des remontées, locations et cours. Il fallait prendre l’assurance…Business oblige.
On nous propose le Pont d’Espagne à 7km en navette payante pour aller « s’amuser » sur le domaine du Pont d’Espagne. 50 mn d’attente car un seul bus… L’autre est en panne…
A signaler aussi les tarifs exagérés des forfaits et cours d’initiation. Tout cela est signalé à l’office de tourisme.
Bref séjour raté dans une station qui visiblement s’essouffle par manque de dynamisme.
