LES GUINGUETTES

There's nothing better than a guinguette to enjoy an evening in the open air. More and more of them are springing up every summer, much to our delight. Often short-lived, they represent the conviviality and spirit of the Franche-Comté over a glass of white wine. Formerly known as "guinguet", white wine was consumed in the popular drinking establishments that sprang up along rivers and canoes outside towns in the ^19th century. The Garonne (port de la Viguerie, quai de Tounis...) and the Canal du Midi are no exception to this tradition.
